When I sat down to make Zach's birthday card, I really wasn't sure what I was going to make. Then it hit me...I could use the set Ride with Me to make a truck (my hubby drives a big red truck) then fill it with packages! I did use three different stamp sets to make this card, but hey that's allowed right when it's a one of a kind. The packages are from You Always Deliver set and the "20" is from Make a Difference. It's hard to tell but the "20" moves back and forth like a wiper blade. I think it turned out pretty cool and Zach really liked it!

February Stamp Camp: Let's get Moving!

Looks at all the beautiful cards we will be creating at the February stamp camp. These card a special because all of them are interactive: A barn door that slides, a butterfly the appears to flutter and birthday card that springs open to fling confetti! You're just going to love how much fun these cards are to make let alone give. The precipitants won't be able to put them down! All of these cards use new products from either 2018 Annual or Occasions catalogs.

Barn Door Card:

This card is really fun to slide the door back and forth. It also allows for a greeting on the inside of the card as well as the two on the outside.

You Move Me Card:

You have to see this card to believe it! As you pull the tab up, the butterfly actually looks like it's fluttering off the front of the card. The stamp set also comes with a hummingbird image that can do the same thing. It's truly amazing!

I've saved the best for last! This card will make you and the recipient happy....that is if both of you like confetti and being surprised!  A little rubber band powered "flinger" will shower confetti out to the delight of all those around.

Butterfly Thinlets Dies

This is my version of a Monarch Butterfly using the new Butterfly Thinlets dies and the stamp set Butterfly Basics.  Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Basic Black cardstock paired with the News print DSP gives this card a beautiful rich feel.  I love the way the butterfly tuned out and it was super easy to create.  Simple die cut the butterfly, then glue it down to a scrap piece of DSP and then cut around the entire image.  Add a little color to the open spaces with ink or a marker and a little rhinestone and you've got a work of art.  For the background of this card I randomly stamped the flower image in VersaMark ink.  Hope yo like it!

Happy 50th Birthday

I made this super fun card for my brother's 50th birthday.  He lives in California, so since I wasn't able to hand deliver his card, I thought it would be fun to design the card so it would fit into a CD envelope....this way the card would show through the clear window.

Card Contest Share #1

Last month I made several cards for the Paper Crafts Stamping Royalty Card contest, but none of my cards were chosen as a winner.  Bummer!  Oh well, you can't always know what the judges are looking for, so I'll just try again next year.  Anyway, now that I know they didn't win I can take the pictures out of hiding and share then with you. 

The first one was one of my favorites.  I thought the die cut scalloped square shape, which is about 4x4 square, would give this card a different, but fun look and of course who doesn't love the Create a Cupcake stamp set!  I also had to add a cherry to the top of my cupcake using my super easy to use Build a Cupcake punch.  If you haven't seen or used these fabulous products....you only have until April 30th to order them......don't miss out!

Two Tags Birthday Card

I love the Two Tags Die, so when I saw a similar card on line I knew I would have to try to make one of my own.  This is a very simple card, but it looks like you spend hours creating it.  If you're like me, time can be hard to come by, so that's what is cool about die cuts, they can cut your production time down without impacting the final results.  This card only took about 10 minutes to make!

Products Used to Make this Card:

Stamp Set: Just Believe, greeting retired

Card Stock: Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze

Ink: Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzazz

Accessories: Big Shot with Two Tags Die and  finial Press Impressions folder, Pear Pizzazz seam binding, Blender pen, Circle Scallop punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, 1 1/4" Circle punch, Pearls,Clear Embossing powder/Heat tool and Versa Mark ink.

The Flower image was stamped with Versa Mark, heat embossed and then colored with ink/blender pen.  Punch out with the 1 1/4" circle, matte with a punched 1 3/8" Circle and punched Scallop Circle then matte to the Two Tags die cut piece.  Only 2/3rds of the Whisper White piece was dry embossed to leave a smooth area to stamp the greeting.  This is done by only placing part of the paper in the folder and then running it through the Big Shot.

Ice Cream Anyone?

Here is another fun project made with the Petal Cone Die.  I saw a version of this card made by Jackie Topa, but instead of having the card slide out, I decided to have my card just open.  It uses only one box piece textured with the Square Lattice Impressions folder to create the "cone".  The chocolate and vanilla "ice cream" was made by first punching a 2 1/2" circle and then placing this punched circle onto the Petal Cone Die over the half scalloped area making sure to cut only the scallop area with the die. (Check out Jackie's blog to see how to make the "Ice Cream" shapes in more detail.  A second box piece was cut with the Petal Cone Die and then cut in half to create the area inside of the card for the greeting.  Punch a 1/2" circle out of red glitter paper and you've got the finishing touch of your card.....a glittery cherry!

Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Very Vanilla and Glitter Red
Ink: Chocolate Chip and Rose Red pad/marker
Accessories: Big Shot with Square Lattice Impression folder and Petal Cone Die, 3/4" Circle punch, 2 1/2" Circle punch, sponge and blender pen.

Do you know an easy way to get two colors on one stamp?  This is how I do it.  Ink up the stamp with the first color then remove the ink from the area you want another color with the blender pen.  Ink up this area using a marker in the second color, huff on the stamp to re-wet the ink and stamp.

Wish Big Birthday Card

I thought I would share with you a card that I made for a submission to PaperCrafts Magazine, but it wasn't chosen, so now I can show it to you.  The card "sketch" was part of the challenge given by PaperCrafts and this is what I came up with.  I think it's pretty cute and what you can't see very well in the picture is that the cupcake "frosting" is sparkly making it look really like real frosting!

CCAT2: Wish Big Birthday Crafty Catwalk Challenge Card

Today I wanted to show you the "Thank You" cards I made for my son's birthday.  This card features two new stamp sets.  The greeting is from the set Word Play and the the little monster is from the set called Make Monster.  Isn't it cute!  The monster can be made in several different ways, so the possibilities are endless. You might want to have a Stamp-ma-jig to line everything up or just eye ball it like me.  Either way, I hope the kids (and adults) will love these cards as much as I do.

Yesterday was my son's 11th birthday, so of course I had to design a special card just for him.  He loves bright colors, so this retired designer paper (sorry) worked great!  Several of the other products used are also retired, so I just thought it would be fun to share the idea with all of you. Maybe it will inspire you to create a card using your own selection of colors. The stamp set used: Birthday Bliss (115442).
