One more Halloween Treat!

Last July while at the Stampin'Up! convention these cute little fabric creations were being passed around by other demonstrators and I thought they were so cute.  If you're like me, I'm always looking for a way to use fabric with my Big Shot and this project was perfect.  Plus, it just one more great way to use the Big Shot and the Petal Cone die...it's a win, win!

It's a scissor holder!  I got the idea from fellow Stampin'Up! demonstrator Laurie Zoellmer.  Super easy to make and there is not a lick of sewing!  Just two piece of fabric, a piece of felt/batting, Wonder Under (iron on adhesive), an iron and a glue gun, plus the Big Shot with Petal Cone and Blossom Party dies.  I made this one for my neighbor with the same fabric that she helped me make a quilt out of and then I started digging through my stash of Stampin'Up! fabric and made a few more.  You might recall that I blessed at convention with about 20 boxes of fabric, so why not start using it.  If love fabric at a great price, Stampin'Up! has put last years fabric on the clearance rack....three fat quarters for only .99 cents!  I'll try to make some up with these clearance fabrics and post them next week.....until have a great day!

Stampin'Up! Fabric

Created by Stacey Cogswell
Modeled by Zach Cogswell

Have you seen the fun aprons made with Stampin'Up! fabric?  Well, I've been seeing them for some time now, but never got around to making any until this week.  Earlier in the month, during the Stampin'Up! Extravaganza sale, the fabric was marked down to a great price, so I picked out several patterns and got to work.  If you have basic sewing skills, these are super easy to make and they turn out super cute.   I made several aprons just like the directions said to do it, but when it came to the ties SU! just doesn't have enough wide ribbon colors to match all the fabric.  The instructions say that you can get three aprons from one box of fabric (which you can), but if you want to make the ties from fabric you'll need two boxes of the same fabric.  Check out Jill Olsen blog videos to see just how to make them.

Per Apron you'll need:
One Tea Towel that measures at least 18" x 28"
One Fat Quater of SU! fabric or fabric of your choice
Large Rick Rack the width of your towel plus a little (Aprox. 20")
Big Shot with Scallops #2 die
1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon (I used 28" for side tie and 18" for neck tie.
1/4" grosgrain ribbon the width of your towel plus a little (Aprox. 14")
Sewing machine, iron and thread.

Happy Sewing!

Rag Purse and more!

Create by Stacey Cogswell

You might have noticed by now that I'm a just a little hooked on the Black, White and Red color theme.  Well, I thought I would show you what started the obsession.  My friend Pat asked me make her a mini Rag Purse using the new Stampin'Up! fabric, so I set right to work.  All the squares in the purse and the flowers were cut using the Big Shot.  I couldn't just send her the purse and I had some fabric left over, so I added a few extra items.  You might recognize the little box (folded fabric) from the last post and the necklace (stamped paper) from the post before that, but the card is a one of a kind.....and yes, it's also made with fabric.  Pink Tacky sheets were used to adhere the fabric on one side before running the fabric through the Big Shot.  Peel the other side of the tacky sheet off and your ready to add the fabric to the front of the card.  It's pretty easy and it give the card a little extra dimension.  You'll have to give it a try.

Enjoy!

Contest Projects

Created by Stacey Cogswell

When I have time to create a project just for fun it's wonderful, but it's even better when I can create the project for a contest!  One of my favorite fellow demonstrator is blog is Angie Kennedy Juda and when she announced she was having a 3D contest, I thought I would enter.  I created a fun little box out of folded SU! fabric and a pin.  This technique can be done with paper as well, but I haven't done much with the fabric, so I thought is would be something different.  The pin can be worn on a jacket or blouse an it also features fabric and the new polk-a-dot ribbon.  If you would like to vote for my project or see all the other projects, click on Angie's name above.

Convention Friend Gifts

Created by Stacey Cogswell

The Stampin'Up Convention is always so much fun for me.  I get to see so many new ideas and gather tons of information, but the best part is spending time with friends. Some of these friends I only get to see at convention, so I always like to make them something special.  This what I came up with this year.  The card layout is the same as the last post, but this time I used fabric to create one of the background and the flower.  The flowers is super fun to create and I used the Big Shot to help me do it.  The best part is the flower comes off, so you can clip it anywhere....maybe even in your hair!  If you want to see how to make the flower and card, I got the idea from Jill Olsen.  Visit her blog to watch a step by step video.  I think this would be a fun card to do at camp as well.....what do you think?

The little goodie bag was created using these great little bags I found at a bakery that was going out of business.
I decorated the out side with paper and fabric then stamped a greeting on the see through window using white Stazon ink.  The came the fun part...filling each bag with goodies.  My friend/convention room mate loves to sew, so I made a matching fabric pin cushion.  My other two friends love chocolate, so there bags were filled with yummy chocolate.  I can't wait to get to convention and give them there gifts!
