January 2011 Stamp Camp Treats....Got Love?

For the last 5 years I've been holding stamp camps each month to show friends how to create great Stampin'Up! projects and one of the perks of coming to camp is the hand made treat I make for each of them.  I've never taken a single picture of these treats, so I thought I would start and then show all of you.  The "Got Love" little milk carton was the treat for the January stamp camp.  I cut out the milk carton then dry embossed it used the polk-a-dot embossing folder, this is hard to see in the picture, but they looked great.  The hearts were cut out of the very fun Real Red Glitter paper.  They turned out really great and instead of filling them with "milk" chocolate, I decided to fill them with conversion hearts.  Hope you like them!

A belated Happy New Year

Created by Stacey Cogswell
Copyright Stampin'Up!

Well, I guess you could say I'm a little behind on my posting, since I'm showing you a Happy New Years card/project and it's almost February!  Oh, well...maybe you can glean some ideas anyway.  These were the cards I made instead of Christmas cards this year. For those people close, they also received the little matching treat box.  To create the "sky" on both the card and box I used my brayer, ink and the masking technique.
Happy Belated New Year to all of you!

A sad time

Created by Stacey Cogswell
Copyright Stampin'Up!

I never thought I would ever have to make a sympathy card for a child, but this week that's exactly what I had to do.  An 8 yr. old boy on my son's skate team lost his father to cancer one week ago.  His father, Harvey, was a wonderful man and he will be greatly missed by all the other children and parents.  I was given the job by the coaches to create a card for him.  Being the only other boy on the team, I figured that my son would be the closest to this little boy, so I asked him what he thought it should look like.  He wanted it to be as bright and happy as possible.  He also didn't want it to be too girly, so this is what we came up with.  The "little" people represent the children on the skate team and we had each of them sign it.  Our hope is that he will know how much we all care about him and ease the pain of losing his father at such a young age just a little bit.

Smiles,
Stacey

January 2011 Stamp Camp Project #3

Created by Stacey Cogswell
Copyright Stampin'Up!

This fun little project uses the traditional Valentine's colors of Real Red, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White, plus the new totally sparkly glitter paper for the new Occasion's mini catalog.  Thanks to my friend and fellow demonstrator in Florida I found this great company called Clearbags that carries all kinds of clear bags and boxes.  The one I decided to use for this camp is a 1" x 8" clear tube that perfectly holds a row of M&M's.  When I made the sample I only had red M&M's, but now that the Valentine's candy is available yours will be red, pink and white!  Add a cute tag, a glittery heart, some ribbon and you have a sweet gift to give. Pair it with a little 3x3 card with matching envelope and your favorite Valentine will know just how you feel about them.

Products used to make this project:

Stamp set: Love You Much (#113756 wood only $25.95)
Cardstock: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, White and Glimmer Paper (#121790 $3.95 for two 12x12 sheets)
Ink/Markers: Real Red and Basic Black
Accessories: Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, Scallop Trim/Border punches, white 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, Red Polka-a-Dot ribbon (currently on clearance rack) and Confetti Explosion builder wheel with Real Red ink/standard handle.

Hope you like it!  I'm finishing up the final touches on the last stamp camp project, so check back in a couple of days.

Smiles,
Stacey

January 2011 Stamp Camp Project #2

The love continues with this project and what's even cooler is I'm going to show you how to make this one card three ways!  Starting with the new mini occasion's embossing folder framed tulips, a large Scallop circle and plain circle cut with the Big Shot will give you the base to the card.  Now the fun begins.  You can use the new al a carte stamp Be My Valentine, basic pearls, a little spritz spray and some pop dots to create this beautiful Valentine's card.
Or you can use the cool new stamp set Take a Spin to create an interactive card and nay one would love to receive.  I choose to make this a Valentine's card, but you can make it for any occasion you like just by highlighting another triangle. How cool is that!  Plus the little spinner actually works!

Then lastly, if you just want a plain, no greeting card you can add a big flower to the center of the card.

Products used to create these cards:

Stamp sets: Be My Valentine (#122045 wood only $8.95), Take a Spin (#121937 wood $28.95, #122015 clear $20.95) or Petal Pizzazz (#114417 wood only $32.95)
Card Stock: Rose red, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla
Ink: Rose Red and Baja Breeze classic ink
Accessories: Big Shot, Large Scallop, Framed Tulip embossing folder, Basic pearls, Game spinner hands, piercer tool, white gel pen and dimentionals.

Project #3 on the the way tomorrow!

Stacey

Jan. 2011 Stamp Camp Project #1

Created by Stacey Cogswell
Copyright Stampin'Up!

This project features the designer series paper Love Letter and three different stamp sets; Love You Much, With All my Heart and Cute Curly.  I love to show how a card design can be altered just by changing the greeting, this way you can go home with two of the cards you like the most. We will also be heat embossing the greeting so they'll really pop off the front of the card.  Add a gem, punched heart or a popped up embellishment and you have a easy but gorgeous card.  Because I'm using an entire package of designer series paper for this class, the background prints will vary for each person, but don't worry all the cards will look great!

Products used to create this card:

Card Stock: Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla
Designer Series Paper: Lover Letter (#117162 $9.95 for 12 double sided 12x12 sheets)
Stamp Sets: Love You Much (#113756 wood only $25.95)
With All My Heart (#118134 wood $17.95 or #118623 clear $13.95)
                   Curly Cute (117014 wood $19.95 or #120510 clear $14.95)
Ink: Vanilla Craft ink and Cherry Cobbler
Accessories: White embossing powder, embossing buddy, heat tool, basic jewels, Pinking heart corner and edge punch, three heart punch, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circle punches.

Enjoy and come back tomorrow for details on the next stamp camp projects.

January 2011 Stamp Camp Projects

(3 of the 4 projects are shown, I'm still waiting on some supplies to finish the last project)
Created by Stacey Cogswell

 Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, are rested and ready to start off the new year stampin'.
Stamp camp will be Friday Jan. 21st from 6:00-10:00 pm
or
Saturday Jan. 22nd from 2:00-6:00 pm.
The cost: $15.00 and the registration deadline is January 14th.

I'm really excited to get back into stamping and show you all the new products coming out on January 4th in the 2011 Occasions mini catalog.  As always, Stampin'Up! has come out with a whole lot of fun new products and it was hard for me to decide which ones to get first.......notice I said "first".....I'm just like many of you.....I want it all too!

Anyway, I have created all the projects for the January stamp camp with Valentine's in mind. But as always, several of the projects can be made into another occasion very easily, which I will provide the supplies to do so if you like.  I can't wait to show you my favorite new things..... the Take a Spin stamp set and little metal spinners!  Just think about how much fun it will be to send a card to someone that actually moves.  I'm also showcasing the new designer series paper Love Letter and the a la carte stamp Be My Valentine.  With a little extra time over the holiday to surf the web, I found this great company that sells all kinds of containers that are "clear", so one of the projects is a clear tube like bag filled with M&M's.  I paired this with a little tag and note card featuring the new Real Red glitter paper.  Wait until you see this paper.  It is so cool and it really is GLITTERY!

The last project is a little 2011 calendar for you to hang on you refrigerator.  I'm waiting for just the right color of ribbon to arrive before I can finish it.....but I will post a picture as soon as I'm finished.  Over the next couple of days, I will also be posting a close up picture of each project with all the supply details....so please keep checking back.

Hope to see you at camp!  Don't wait to sign up, Friday night is already 1/2 full.

Smiles,
Stacey
