Carrots Anyone?

Created by Stacey Cogswell
Copyright Stampin'Up!

The Sour Cream box has been around for years, but would you ever believe it could look like a carrot?  I made these carrots as my thank you gift for the March stamp camp attendees.  This sweet little treat started out as a 5"x 6" piece of designer series print paper. The 6" side of the paper creates the length of the carrot while the 5" side is wrapped around to make a tube. Each end of the tube is glued together making sure to adhere them in the opposite direction from each other, just don't forget to add the candy before closing both ends of the tube.  I added the top of the carrot between the layers of paper.  Hummm....for such an easy project to make it's really not the easy to put into words.  Please let me know if this makes sense and if it doesn't, please let me know that too!

Have you seen the printed Sale-a-bration velum?  It's pretty cool and I thought it would be fun to made a simple card featuring it.  So that's what I did! I die cut a circle in the middle of the square and then added a piece of velum behind the opening.  Velum can be tricky to adhere to cardstock because you can sometimes see the adhesive, but with this card there is not a problem.  I added a little color to the back of the velum leaves, added a pretty bow and a few candy dots.  I thought he card still looked liked it was missing something, so I added a little punched butterfly and it was just the touch it needed.

Celebrate mini size

I made this small gift card sized beauty using the Photopolymer stamp set called Balloon Bash.
I stamped the three balloons and them used only a portion of another stamp for the "celebrate".
Quick and easy!

Sharing in your Sorrow

A few weeks ago my son's piano teacher lost her mother and wanted to make her a special card.  I wanted to use incorporate music in the card, so I used a piece of music printed velum. The card lay out is simple enough, but to bring it up a notch, I added a button, a piece of lace ribbon, a die cut doily, a dry embossed panel and a couple of punched butterflies.  It turned out really pretty.

Oh Happy Day!

This was a fun card I made for a gentlemen at the rink when he passed his first level coaching test to become my son's new roller skating coach. I used the Starburst Saying stamp set  and the Starburst Framelits along with the Confetti Celebration designer series paper to create this fun but still "manly" card.  I also used the Gift Card framelit to make the inside gift card envelope.  The hexagon design in the paper is tied together using the hexagon embossing folder on the base layer of the card.

Butterfly Thinlets Dies

Created by Stacey Cogswell

This is my version of a Monarch Butterfly using the new Butterfly Thinlets dies and the stamp set Butterfly Basics.  Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Basic Black cardstock paired with the News print DSP gives this card a beautiful rich feel.  I love the way the butterfly tuned out and it was super easy to create.  Simple die cut the butterfly, then glue it down to a scrap piece of DSP and then cut around the entire image.  Add a little color to the open spaces with ink or a marker and a little rhinestone and you've got a work of art.  For the background of this card I randomly stamped the flower image in VersaMark ink.  Hope yo like it!

Another one!

Created by Stacey Cogswell

Here is another card using the Indescribable Gift stamp set. I used Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi ink to color this one, along with a little Chocolate Chip for the stem.  It's really quite stunning in person. I used the embossed paper from Sale-a-bration and sponged it with Pink Pirouette ink to create the bottom of the card. I hope you can see the "shadow" line around the image, this really makes it look like the flowers are about ready to pop off the paper.

Indescribable Gift Number 2

Here is another version of the card I showed you yesterday, but this one is colored  with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilites.  I turned out really beautiful!  I love the combination of the Cherry Cobbler and Black paper.  This plus the added little pearls gives this card such an elegant feel.

Indescribable Gift stamp set

I knew I was going to love to color this stamp set the first time I saw it, but I had no idea it would become my favorite stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog!  It is so much fun and easy to create such beautiful flowers.  For this card I stamped extra flowers, cut them out and popped them up over the base flowers.  I also softly sponged the cardstock with Soft Sky and outlines the flowers with my Soft Sky Blendabilites marker.  I know, sadly we don't carry the Blendabilites any more, but the same look can be created using an Aqua painter and Classic ink.  The greeting stamp is from Butterfly Basics, my second favorite stamp set!  Enjoy and please leave a comment.

Yummy Green Cupcakes!

So just as I promised I would, here is what I made with the pansy punched shamrocks.  I saw this really cool idea to make cupcakes in a jar as gifts, so I thought it would be fun to do green cupcakes for my family for St. Patrick's day!  I used a white (GF) cake mix and added a package of instant pistachio pudding to turn the batter green. Layer 1 1/2 a cupcakes with a little frosting and top it off with chopped green pistachios. The shamrock was the perfect size to decorate the top of the green lid. Serve with a green spoon and you've got a super fun yummy St. Patrick's Day treat.  Enjoy!

Easy Shamrocks!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I wanted to show you a super cool easy way to make shamrocks using your Pansy Punch.  Simply punch out a pansy then partially cut away one of the petals to create a stem. Add a little sponging for some contrast and wallah you've got a four leave clove!
Thank you to fellow demonstrator Brandi Barnard for this great idea!

Check back later to see what I'm making these to go on.

Smiles,
Stacey

Blast for the past!

Created by Stacey Cogswell

My friend asked me to create a baby shower card for her with a western theme and at first I thought what in the world I am going to create.  I don't have any western themed stamp sets, so I started asking my friends if they had any and I also did a quick search on Pinerest.  When a friend suggested I use a retired stamp set to make a stick horse, I was off and running.  This is what I came up with. Do you recognize it?  It's the stamp set Stitched Stockings!  I stamped one of the images twice in two different inks and then layered them together along with some ribbon and mini brads.  It turned out pretty cute. I didn't have any western bay greetings, so I turned to the computer to create this one. Enjoy!

Bokeh Technique

The last card we will be making at this months stamp camp will feature the Bokeh technique.  Have you hear of it?  It's a photography term that means blurred points of light.  It's super popular in the paper world right now and it's super easy to create using just ink.  Come to stamp camp and learn how!

Celebrating You Birthday Card

Here is one of the birthday cards we will be making this month at stamp camp.  I'm super excited to show you some cool tricks for die cutting images with teeny tiny cut pieces and how to use some of these pieces that you would normally throw away. Thank you Wendy Knowles for the inspiration! I'm not sure if you can see the embossed white background paper, but this the Sale-a-bration paper Irresistibly Yours.  Left un-colored it adds a fun shiny look, but on the inside of the card I will show you what it looks like when you add ink to the background....super cool either way!

Butterfly Basics with Blendabilites

Sympathy cards are the hardest cards to make and I've had to make two this month.  I used the stamp set Butterfly Basics to create the beautiful card. I used the Wisteria Wonder and Wild Wasabi Blendabilites to color the flower.  I will have to admit that Wisteria Wonder is not on the top of my list of color choices, but after pairing the ink with the ribbon and paper, I have changed my mind! This card turned out amazing looking! Hope you like it.
